Why is the Trust needed?

At the best of times it is difficult to raise funds for repairs entirely by local effort, sometimes the target seems out of reach Today however, there are increasing financial pressures on all congregations, and there is therefore an increasing need around the country for church preservation grants and the Trust will help where possible.

A loan may be appropriate where there is a local capacity for fundraising, but work needs to start urgently. By giving loans the Trust can reuse its capital.
